Cafe Mauresque, Burtchery Lane, Canterbury - ReviewWednesday 24 Mar 2010 20:26 Restaurant Reviews Tags: Cafe Mauresque, Burtchery Lane, canterbury, gluten, dairy, intollerance, coeliac, diner, review Cafe Mauresque, Burtchery Lane, Canterbury
The restaurant is set out over a couple of floors try and get a table in the basement for the best effect as the atmosphere is wonderful. Tables in alcoves, low hanging lanterns and the gentle buzz of conversation make this a great place to hang out for a relaxed meal. The food is very good and they are excellent for catering for food allergies. A quick word with the waiting staff and I had a separate menu with an easy to use table that made it incredibly easy and reassuring for me to see what was Gluten and Dairy free and safe for me to eat. I was very pleasantly surprised by the good selection that was available to me. The lamb tangine was delicious and a real treat to be able to go out and eat a meal with thick meaty juices. Desert options were very limited but a sparkling mohito soon made up for it and I finished my meal a very happy and contented diner. Cafe Mauresque is very popular so booking is recommended to ensure you get a table at night, alternatively you could try their lunch time buffet lunches.
