We got the chance to see a preview showing of this film and I must admit I didnt really have high hopes. It was definately not a movie we would have chosen to go and see normally, our normal film fair being SciFi, Action/Adventure. However to say we were pleasantly suprised would be an understatement, actually I think it is the best film we have seen since the beginning of last year.

Slumdog MillionaireThe Story
Jamal is an 18 year old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, he is one question away from winning 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" show when he is arrested by the police for cheating.

As he watches the show back with the police he has to explain how he knew the answer to each question. These explanations take you through the major events in his life from a small child to the current day including seeing the death of his mother and working as a very unofficial tour guide at the Taj Mahal.

Slumdog Millionaire, Jamal, Latika and SalimThroughout his story are his brother Salim and Latika, the girl he loved nearly his whole life and lost. The three of them thrown together as oprhans on the slums experience an array of obstacles that could break them apart, even threaten the life and limbs, including a truly frightening run in with the barbaric child begging rings

But will the police believe this 18 year old tea boy, who has no interest in winning the money but wants to be on the show because he knows she always watches it, and will he get the final answer right?

Slumdog Millionaire, Ayush Mahesh Khedekar

The acting in this film is brilliant, Dev Patel, from Channel 4's Skins Series and Freida Pinto are well matched as the two main characters, and Ayush Mahesh Khedekar who played young Jamal stole the show for me.

All I can say is give this delightful love story a go, it will take you through and range of emotions and leave you walking out the cinema feeling on top of the world. Go on take a risk it is a wonderful way to spend a couple of your hours
